Jessie Dean "Sis" McDaniel, 81, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Monday evening, Feb. 19, 2018, at her home near Carthage. She was born on Sept. 16, 1936, in Castor, LA to the late Ben and Sadie Lee Tullous Rigdon. She graduated from Castor High School with the class of 1953. She married Ed McDaniel on Dec. 22, 1953, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 2015. Mrs. McDaniel moved to Carthage in 1979, from Fisher, LA and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Geraldine Weaver, Dot Wisnor, Carolyn Daughty, and Ben Rigdon, Jr.

Survivors include her sons, Mark Edward McDaniel and wife Debbie of Timpson and Adam Forest McDaniel of Carthage; daughter, Kay Peterson of Carthage; grandchildren, Todd Knippers, Kerry Davis, Kelly Kilgore, Allie Rutherford, Alex McDaniel, and Lily McDaniel; and 6 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Nathan Davis, Brad Kilgore, Reese Marshall, Sloan Davis, Ben Lockwood and Bobby Lockwood.
