Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Jerry William "Josh" Gardner, age 32, of Tatum, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jason Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Vinson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Gardner passed away on Sunday morning, June 21, 2009, in Longview.

Jerry William "Josh" Gardner was born on December 13, 1976, in Helena, Arkansas to J.W. and Barbara Gail Nicholson Gardner. He attended Jackson Central Merry High School in Jackson, Tennessee where he played football. Josh also participated in the Air Force Jr. R.O.T.C. program in Jackson. He lived in Tatum off and on for the past five years, moving from Tennessee. Josh attended the Bar None Cowboy Church near Tatum. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Josh is survived by his father, J.W. "Paul" Gardner and wife Ruby Simpson of Tatum; his mother, Gail Cummings and husband Harold of Mayflower, Arkansas; the love of his life and soul mate, Shirley Baker of Longview; one son, Joshua Austin Gardner and one daughter, Victoria Cheyenne Gardner both of Jackson, Tennessee; two brothers, Jeffrey William Gardner and wife Cassie of Elgin, Illinois and Rodney Vernon Gardner and wife Cheryl of Oak Grove, Kentucky; and four sisters, Alisha Ashcraft of Mayflower,Arkansas, Barbara Ann Gardner of Union City, Tennessee, Cathy Jo Westbrook of Mayflower,Arkansas and Christy Elaine Gardner of Jackson, Tennessee.

Serving as pallbearers are Mike Sullens, Shawn Sullens, Jerry Moore, Richard Brown, Mark Stewart, and Kris Propes.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Louis Gardner, Ricky Nicholson, and Don Tidwell.
