Obituary

Jerry "Beek" Buechler, 74, of Carthage, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017. Gerald Louis Buechler was born on June 17, 1943, in Appleton, Wisconsin to the late Richard Adam and Anna Marie Poppe Buechler. He graduated from Kimberly High School in Kimberly, Wisconsin with the class of 1961. He worked for Kimberly Clark and later owned and operated C&R Lunch in Chilton, Wisconsin. In 1978, he moved to Carthage where he worked for Texas Utilities until his retirement in 1999. After retirement, he owned Copper Creations and later opened his own shop, Beek's Rods and Restoration, fulfilling a lifetime dream of working with his son David. He married Teri Wynnette Taylor on January 15, 1987, in Carthage. Jerry was known in the community for his honesty and his vast knowledge and his love of classic cars and hotrods. He enjoyed traveling all over the U.S. to car shows with special friends. He was a hard working man who loved his family and instilled a strong sense of ethics in his children. In recent years, Jerry renewed his respect for the Bible. It was his desire to begin a detailed study of God's word. Jerry had faith in and drew comfort from the resurrection promise given by Jesus Christ.  He was a member of Walnut Springs Baptist Church.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gene Buechler; and sister, Delores Stroebel.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Teri of Carthage; children, Timm Buechler of Appleton, David Buechler and wife Eden of Belton, Laurie Riley and husband Josh of College Station, Shawna rae Briggs and husband Ron of Carthage, and Amanda Leverett and husband Michael of Wichita Falls; brother, Donald Buechler and wife Dede of Navarre Beach, FL; grandchildren, Tyler, Brady, Chelsea and husband Jace, Brannon, Mya rae, Aidan, Roan, Noah, Skylar, Kolby, Macie, Logan, and Jeremy and wife Courtney; great-grandchildren, Karrington, Bennett, Avery, Aubrie, and Blake; and in-laws, Henry and Arona Taylor of Carthage.
