Jerry Bissell, 70, of Lake Murvaul, passed away on Friday evening, May 2, 2025, in Tyler, TX. Jerry David Bissell was born on August 6, 1954, in Shreveport, LA to the late Leroy Bissell and Rosie Marjean Kellogg. Mr. Bissell loved the water and every activity related to the lake, including boating, skiing, and fishing. He was proud of his 32-year career with C.E. Shepherd Co. in Houston, TX. Upon retirement in 2007, he moved permanently to the Lake Murvaul area from Huffman, TX. Mr. Bissell is preceded in death by his parents; wife, LayDell Bissell; two brothers, Donnie Roy Bissell and Ralph Steven Vandaveer; and two nephews, James Reynolds Jr. and Jeremy Wayne Reynolds.

Mr. Bissell is survived by his long-time partner, Celia Ann Mitchell (Ciji) of Lake Murvaul; two daughters, Angela Lynn Legg and husband Brian of Caldwell, Stephanie Renee Cook and husband Howard of Spring; two brothers, Richard Thomas Bissell of Splendora, Carl Bissell and wife Sherri; four sisters, Sheila Ann Bissell Wallace and husband Larry of Tennessee, Mayme Kathleen Romas and partner Mike of Porter, Nita Carol Zuber and husband Matt of Alabama, Linda Gail Hodges and husband Sam; six grandchildren, Isaiah Bissell, Caitlin Cesarz, Joshua Legg, Gracie Legg, Tailynn Springer, Maria Legg; and 1 great-grandchild, Zaidah Bissell; and numerous nephews and nieces.

A graveside service and with burial of ashes will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at County Line Cemetery, 12138 F.M. 1971, Timpson, Texas 75975, with Dr. Brian Legg officiating under the direction of the family. Cremation arrangements are by Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Ricky Bissell, Isaiah Bissell, Joshua Legg, Howard Cook, Jeff Walls, and Jim Butz.
