Jennifer Martin, 66, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, in Carthage. Jennifer Louise Monic Martin was born on Jan. 12, 1952, in Carthage, TX to the late Douglas Gary Monic, Sr. and Dorothy Lou Williams Monic. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1970. Jennifer earned an associates degree from Panola College and attended the University of Texas at Austin. In the mid-1990's, she obtained her real estate license and began a successful 26 year career as a real estate agent in Carthage, where she worked for the Joffrion Agency. She loved gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Jennifer lived most of her lifetime in Carthage and was a member of Central Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher.

She is survived by her children, Ryan Martin and wife Amanda of Carthage and Heather Stevenson and husband Sean of Rockwall; brother, Gary Monic and wife Carol of Tatum; sister, Jo Jo Wimberly and husband Fred of Galloway; grandchildren, Kate and Karys Baker; step-grandchildren, Hannah, Sofia, Helena, Kiaran, Saylor, and Brady; step-great-grandchild, Camden; niece, Dannett Hooker and husband Jeff and their children, Kori, Kelsi, and Garrett; niece, Daphne Philo and her children, Maddox and Maccoy; niece, Monica Reed and husband Johnny and their children, Casey, Kristen, and Kelsey; and numerous cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at Central Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Dodson and Dr. Monty Pierce officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jeff Hooker, Olin Joffrion, Sean Stevenson, Gary Monic, Glen Ledger, Harold Allred, and Steve Shuttlesworth. Honorary pallbearers are Maddox Philo, Maccoy Philo, Garrett Hooker, and Kiaran Wallace.
