Obituary

Jennifer Delaine LaGrone Carlson, 54, of Tulsa, OK, passed away on Saturday morning, July 8, 2017, in Tulsa. She was born on April 3, 1963, in Austin, TX to James Clayton and Sidna Gillis LaGrone. Jennifer graduated from Memorial High School in Tulsa, OK with the class of 1981. She earned her bachelor's degree in English from the Oklahoma State University in 1985, and earned her master's degree in Museum Science from the University of Tulsa in 2016. She married Marc Carlson on Jan. 11, 1986, at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church in Tulsa. Jennifer was very active in the Society for Creative Anachronisms. She moved to Tulsa in 1988, from Stillwater, OK and was a member of St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church in Tulsa.

Survivors include her husband, Marc Carlson of Tulsa; mother, Sidna LaGrone of Deadwood; brothers, Clayton Gillis LaGrone and wife Tami of Dallas and Bradley Michael LaGrone and wife Debra of Longview; aunt, Dianne Page of Deadwood; uncles, James K. Gillis and wife Marlene of The Woodlands and Joel L. Gillis of Galveston; nieces and nephews, Ashleigh LaGrone, Patrick LaGrone, Zachary LaGrone, Abrea LaGrone, and Georgia LaGrone; and great-niece, Kymber LaGrone Springer.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017, at Deadwood Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Michael Scalora officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
