Jeffrey Austin Register, 65, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Friday night, July 30, 2021, in Longview, TX. He was born on July 20, 1956, in Nacogdoches, TX to Gene Austin and Flora Ruth Roberts Register. Jeff graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1974. He married Jodie Marie Patterson on June 18, 1977, at the First United Methodist Church in Carthage where he was a member. Jeff began working at Texas Utilities in 1980, and retired in February of 2021, after 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and coaching youth sports. Jeff was preceded in death by his father and a nephew, Justin Pike.

He is survived by his mother, Flora Register of Nacogdoches; wife, Jodie Register of Carthage; sons, Kris Register, Kyle Register and fiancé Samantha Urban, and Klay Register and wife Sara; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pam Pike and husband Jimmy of Carthage and Beverly Henderson and husband Wyatt of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Karter, Kennedy, Braxton, Aniston, and Finn Register; brothers-in-law, Robert Patterson and wife Judy and Bobby Patterson and wife Pam; sister-in-law, Lisa Langford and husband Terry; and nieces and nephews, Joslyn Wedgeworth, Blake Henderson, Ayrika Giese, Robby Patterson, Jason Patterson, Jaclyn Morehart, and Jay White.

A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Joey and Dean Register officiating. The service will also be live streamed on the funeral home facebook page. Entombment will follow in Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. prior to the memorial service.

Honorary pallbearers are Pat Mucci, Tony Lockridge, Randy Cook, Robby Patterson, Jason Patterson, Blake Henderson, Jay White, and Jimmy Courtney.
