Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Jeanette Fleming Jordan, age 81, of Deer Park, TX formerly of the Woods Community in Panola County, TX, will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Woods New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Puryear officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Woods Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday at the church prior to the service. Mrs. Jordan passed away Thursday afternoon, May 27, 2010, in Deer Park.
Jeanette Fleming Jordan was born on Oct. 1, 1928, in Tenaha, TX to Roy Wesley and Claudia DuBose Fleming. She graduated from Tenaha High School with the class of 1945. Mrs. Jordan married Rubin Clay Jordan on Feb. 28, 1947, in Vernon, TX. Mrs. Jordan worked for many years at Albuquerque National Bank in Albuquerque, NM, retiring as a Vice President. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in the Woods Community and Deer Park United Methodist Church in Deer Park. Her favorite hobby was working in her flower garden. Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her husband, Rubin Jordan; her parents; three brothers, Charles Fleming, Dan Fleming, and Roy Fleming; and a nephew Danny Fleming.
Mrs. Jordan is survived by her daughter, Sherry Meynier; granddaughter Jana Tarlton and husband Ron; great-grandsons, Benjamin, Samuel, and Matthew Tarlton; surviving sister-in-law, Ime Fleming; nephew Stephen Fleming; brother-in-law Bueford Jordan; niece Janie Macalister; nephew David Fleming and wife Gayle; niece Peggy Greene and husband Don; niece Paula Fleming; nephews, Rodney and Scott Fleming; niece, Danielle Kreher; nephew J.C. Nickens and wife Melinda; niece Dolores Bishop and husband Hollis. Other special family members are the children and grandchildren of her nieces and nephews and the family of James and Jackie Fowler.
Serving as pallbearers are Don Greene, David Fleming, Trey Fleming, James Fowler, Greg Fowler, Jeff Fowler, Mike Reese, and Ron Tarlton.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Benjamin, Samuel, and Matthew Tarlton.
