Janice McClellan, 77, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 25, 2022, at her home in Carthage. Janice Vesta Howell was born on Oct. 20, 1944, in Carthage to the late John Lee and Vesta Pearl Rhiddlehoover Howell. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1964. Janice married Foy Ricky McClellan on Sept. 9, 1994, in Carthage and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2021. She worked at Carthage Cup and Ben Franklins for many years and retired from Wal-Mart as Department Manager. Janice loved arts and crafts, and especially enjoyed shopping at Hobby Lobby. She also enjoyed cooking, going out to eat, and spending time with her family. Janice lived her lifetime in Carthage and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by a step-daughter, Mary Elizabeth McClellan; brother, Johnny Howell; and an infant sibling.

She is survived by her son, Bobby Reed and wife Brandi; daughter, Bonnie Kenderdine and husband Clifton; step-daughter, Frances McClellan Wilson and husband Cory; sister, Joy Graves; brother, Joe Howell; grandchildren, Baylee and Baylor Reed, Tye McKnight and wife Brandi, Lane McKnight, Eastyn McKnight, Jason, Hailey, Rebecca, and Hope Smallwood, and Josh and Carly Bledsoe.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, at Macedonia Cemetery with Bro. Freddy Mason officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers are Tye McKnight, Lane McKnight, Baylor Reed, and Eastyn McKnight.
