Janette Pierce, 94, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Sunday morning, January 1, 2023, in Carthage. Willie Janette Hill was born on July 7, 1928, in the Youngblood Community, Beckville, Panola County, Texas to the late Jim and Addie Irene Blackmon Hill. She married J.D. Pierce on September 9, 1945, in Beckville and he preceded her in death on January 10, 1993, after 48 years together. Janette lived her lifetime in Panola County and was of the Pentecostal faith. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Ray Pierce; sister, Lila Richey; and brothers L.B. Hill, Elmer James Hill, and Marshall Hill.

Mrs. Pierce is survived by her grandson, Kristopher Henley and wife Kristi of Austin and her niece, Darlene Bullard.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023, at New Prospect Cemetery near Beckville with Bro. Dennis Landtroop officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
