A graveside service for Mr. James F. "Jimmy" Dennis, 82, of Lindale, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola with entombment to follow the graveside service. Pat Wells will officiate. Mr. Dennis passed away on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 2, 2014, in Tyler.

James Fayne Dennis was born on Feb. 2, 1932, in Tyler. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne and was honorably discharged. He married Shirley Ann Stone on Dec. 1, 1955, in Tyler. Mr. Dennis was a licensed funeral director for over 40 years having owned and operated three funeral homes, with the last one being located in McCamey, TX. Mr. Dennis moved to Lindale in 1992, from McCamey, and opened Funeral Directors Transfer Service, a business he operated up until his death. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dennis was also preceded in death by his brother, R. L. Dennis and his sister, LaVerne Farmer.

Mr. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley Dennis and his son, Daniel Dennis both of Lindale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
