A funeral service for Jim Morris, 45, of Carthage, will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, at Southside Baptist Church in Carthage with Rev. J.P. Mills officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday at the church prior to the service.His burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Jim passed away on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 17, 2015, at his home near Carthage.

James Augustus "Jim" Morris, Jr. was born on July 25, 1970, to James Augustus, Sr. and Shirley Soape Morris. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1988, and attended Panola College. Jim worked for SPL as a field supervisor for many years. He lived his lifetime in Panola County and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Jim's father preceded him in death.

Jim is survived by his mother, Shirley Morris; four children, Jack Nolan Morris, Natalie Leigh Morris, Ethan Walker Morris, and Anna Kate Morris; brother, Chad Steven "Cotton" Morris all of Carthage; nephew, Dillon Morris; and niece, Courtney Morris.

Pallbearers are Paul Harvey, David Soape, Garrett Soape, Grant Soape, Kelton Crenshaw, and Jeremy Henigan.

Honorary pallbearers are Blanton Rich, Todd Griffith, Dale Lawhorn, and Dan Parker.
