Graveside services for Mr. James Charles Williams, age 80, of Beckville, TX, were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Connor Cemetery near Beckville with Elder Ed Haley officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mr. Williams passed away on Sunday afternoon, April 3, 2011, at his home near Beckville.

James Charles Williams was born on May 28, 1930, in Beckville, TX to James Wesley and Rosa Gill Williams. He attended Beckville schools. Mr. Williams served his country in the U.S. Army from 1947-1949 and was honorably discharged. He married Esther Vanderboss on Sept. 11, 1954, in Houston, TX. Mr. Williams worked as a boilermaker in the Houston and Galveston area for many years. He moved back to Beckville in 1969. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents and one half-sister, Evelyn Wilkerson.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Esther Williams of Beckville; one daughter, Cindy Diffey and husband Ronnie of the Pine Hill Community; two grandchildren, James Brandon Diffey of the Pine Hill Community and Tiffany Anne Blank and husband Jason of Tennessee Colony; one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Blank and another great-grandchild on the way.
