Jackie Walton McMillian, 52, of Carthage, passed away on Sunday morning, Jan. 8, 2017, in Carthage. Jacqueline Elaine Walton McMillian was born on June 25, 1964, in Carthage to Robert Van and Margaret Ann Raines Walton. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1982, and attended Northwestern University in Natchitoches. Jackie was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan. She lived all of her life in Carthage and was a member of the New Haven C.M.E. Church in Walnut Grove. Jackie was preceded in death by her father.
Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Margaret Scott of Carthage; her step-mother, Eddie Mae Walton of DeBerry; her daughter, Jocelyn Williams and husband Moe of Carthage; brother, Robert Van Walton, Jr. of Carthage; sister, Ramona Thompson and husband Ivora of Angleton; and grandchildren, Jiyia and Jaleah Williams. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Jackie.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at Walnut Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Earl Jones officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Freddie Castleberry, Aubra Williams, Sr., Carlton Williams, Patrick Williams, Michael Pipkin, and John Haggerty.
Honorary pallbearers are Robert Van Walton, Ivora Thompson, Aubra Williams (Moe), Audray McMillian, Ivora Thompson, Jr. (Ky), Jimmy Raines, and John McMillian.
