Jack Parker,

September 9, 1938 – November 25, 2020
Jack Parker, Sr., 82, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 25, 2020, at his home in Carthage. Jackson King Parker, Sr. was born on Sept. 9, 1938, in Shreveport, LA to the late J.A. "Buddy" and Dorothy Raney King Parker. He grew up in the Del Ray Community of Panola County, graduating from Carthage High School with the class of 1956. Jack attended Panola College where he earned an Associate's Degree. He married Gale Crawford on Dec. 20, 1958, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Jack worked in the oil field service industry for SPL for 59 years before his retirement. He lived his lifetime in Panola County and was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Kale David Lindsay.
Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Gale Parker of Carthage; daughter, Jacquelyn Brown and husband Mark of Clifton; sons, Jack Parker, Jr. and wife Tina of Elysian Fields and Dan Parker and wife Tabatha of Carthage; 10 grandchildren; Jennifer Sharp, Kelly McCallum, Haleigh Parker, Kylee Parker, Reed Parker, Jax Parker, Jackson Lundy, Nash Dickson, Nate Dickson, Keighly Reynolds and 3 great-grandchildren: Parker Frazier, Madison Quinn and Jackson Kai Parker. He is also survived by a special niece, Jo Lynn Field.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Walton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. The service will be livestreamed on the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Facebook page for those that are unable to attend.
Pallbearers are Kelly McCallum, Parker Frazier, Kylee Parker, Reed Parker, Jax Parker, and Jackson Lundy.
Honorary pallbearers are Amon Turner and Frank Sepaugh.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mr. Parker's caregivers and Heart's Way Hospice for the loving care provided to their loved one, and a very special Thank You to Mackenzie Robinson and Jo Lynn Field who were there when he needed them the most.
