Jack Abner Harris, 90, of Beckville, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, in Carthage. He was born on March 12, 1926, in Beckville to the late W.A. "Steve" and Lizzie Mae Davis Harris. Jack served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was honorably discharged. He married Bobbie Marie Heim on May 11, 1946, in Beckville and she preceded him in death on Aug. 21, 2005. Jack pastored Pine Grove Assembly in Beckville for over 55 years. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Louise May and Margie Rogers.

Survivors include his children, Jackie Harris and wife Brenda, Rod Harris and wife Shirley, Ronnie Harris and wife Peggy, Brad Harris and wife Jonell all of Beckville, and Ann Morehead and husband Garry of Tomball; sister, Patsy George of Beckville; 14 grandchildren, Buddy Harris, Scott Harris, Misti Davis, Josh Harris, Dana Williams, Crystal Davis, Deana Smith, Shannon Baker, Patrick Harris, Brett Harris, Blake Harris, Jennifer Allen, Dustin Alexander, and Garrett Morehead; 33 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at Pine Grove Assembly in Beckville with Jackie Harris, Elbert Jones, and Ray Horn officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Martin Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel.

Pallbearers are Buddy Harris, Scott Harris, Brett Harris, Blake Harris, Josh Harris, Patrick Harris, Dustin Alexander, Garrett Morehead, and Chance Harris White.

Honorary pallbearers are Gene Mothershed, Glenn Johns, Bodie Osburn, Roger Toon, James Williams, Gene Lewis, and Bill Smith.
