Ivora Thompson, Jr., 56, of Angleton, TX, passed away Friday night, Nov. 2, 2018, at his home. He was born on June 5, 1962, in Carthage, TX to Ivora Thompson, Sr. and Sedonia Marie Holland Thompson. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1980, where he played football, basketball, ran track, and played in the band. He attended North Texas University. Ivora worked in management for Wal-Mart for over 24 years. He married Ramona Kaye Walton on Aug. 9, 1996, in Tennessee. He was a member of and attended Bibleway Baptist Church in Angleton and New Hope Baptist Church in Clute. He was preceded in death by his father and a son-in-law, Vernon Dale Pittman.

Survivors include his mother, Sedonia Thompson; wife, Ramona Thompson; sons, Ivora Thompson, III, Zach Thompson, and Bryan Carter; daughter, Brittani Pittman (Derrian); brothers, Castural Dale Thompson (Elizabeth) and Donald Ray Wilcox; sisters, Margaret Janet Thompson, Beverly Thompson Robertson (William, Sr.), and Jacqueline Thompson Rattler (Emmett); grandchildren, Vernon Dale Pittman, II and Gavin Michael Jordan; and special nephew, Derrick Thompson.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Ricky Campbell officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Holland's Quarter Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Royce McKinney, Ivan Link, Aubra Williams, Sr., Aubra "Mo" Williams, Jr., D.C. Compton, Robert Marry, and Conrad Landry.

Honorary pallbearers are Derrick Thompson, Christopher Thompson, Castural Dale Thompson, Sr., Castural Dale Thompson, Jr., Jalen Rattler, Robert Van Walton, Jr., Derrian Davis, Tyler Autry and Craig Robertson, II.
