Ira L. (Bill) Langley, 90, of Beckville, passed away on Monday night, Feb. 27, 2017. Bill was born on Feb. 23, 1927, in Darco, TX, the 5th of 9 children born to the late John Oliver and Amelia Maude Cochran Langley. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged. He married Geraldine Godwin in 1951, and she preceded him in death in 1991. Mr. Langley retired from Trailmobile and worked for Panola County in Precinct 2 until his retirement. He was a fisherman and hunter, loved his garden, and his beautiful roses. He was also preceded in death by sons, Terry and Joey Langley; brothers, Docious and Joe Langley; and sisters, Margie Faye Dodson, Agnes Weaver, Libby Harris, and Lou Bolton.

Survivors include his daughter, Amelia Maxwell and husband Ricky; son, Burt Langley and wife Cheyanne all of White Oak; sisters, Jimmie Gaye Davis and Phyllis Robinson of Carthage; daughter-in-law, Sheila Langley of Illinois; sisters-in-law, Ruth Ferguson and husband Bill of Grand Bluff and Mary Frances Langley; 6 grandchildren, Lauren Koos and husband Austin, Tige Maxwell and wife Jessica, Nathan Langley and wife Kristina, Preston Langley, Billy Percy and wife Melissa, and Angela Harvey; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2016, at Langley Cemetery in Beckville with Bro. Bob Scott officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers are Mark Buchanan, Eugene Metcalf, Tommy Jones, Charles Hightower, Earl Robinson, and Bill Ferguson.
