Graveside services for Mrs. Ina Maude "Suzie" Whitsett, age 95 of Nacodoches, Texas formerly of Carthage, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Restland Memorial Park near Carthage with Brother Kevin Cook officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Whitsett passed away on Wednesday morning, February 27, 2008 in Nacogdoches.

Ina Maude Morrison Whitsett was born on November 27, 1912 in Blockdale, Texas to Elry Marion and Nany Mitchell Yeats Morrison. Mrs. Whitsett married Shannar Armo Whitsett on December 1, 1935 in Olney, Texas. Mrs. Whitsett lived in Carthage from 1976 until 2000 before moving to Nacogdoches. She taught Sunday school most of her adult life and was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Carthage. Mrs. Whitsett was preceded in death by her husband, Shannar Armo Whitsett who passed away on March 20, 1988; son and daughter-in-law, Bill R. and Carol Whitsett; five brothers, and one sister.

Mrs. Whitsett is survived by two sons, Norman L. Whitsett and wife Faye of Longview and Gary Whitsett and Elecee of Nacogdoches; eight grandchildren, Stephen Whitsett and wife Judy of Longview, Troy Whitsett of Keller, Greg Whitsett and wife Melissa of Savannah, Lyle Whitsett and wife Kalie of Southlake, Jill Whitsett of Longview, Cory Whitsett of Austin, Ben Whitsett of Houston, and Kerry Whitsett of Nacogdoches; and four great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive Mrs. Whitsett.
