Imogene Hardin Beasley Pedro, age 91, of Lafayette, LA, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 19, 2018. She was born April 22, 1926, in Gary, TX to the late Floyd Lemmie and Winnie Merritt Bailey Hardin. She had been a resident of Lafayette for over fifty years and was a member of First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Oilfield Wife's Club and the American Business Woman's Assn. She was employed with Lafayette General Medical Center and Amoco. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandsons were the light of her life. She had a green thumb and everything she grew was either beautiful or delicious. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, cook, baker and seamstress. She was kind, loving and generous. She will be greatly missed every day. She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband and father of her children, Warren E. Beasley; her second husband of thirteen years, Sam Pedro; brothers, Elbridge and Ivan Hardin; and sisters, Wanda Fruits and Juanita Adams.
She is survived by sisters, Elsie Morgan of Little Rock, AR and Barbara Moore of Broken Bow, OK; sons, Thomas and Ronald Beasley (Celeste) of Lafayette, LA; daughters, Constance Savoy (Steve) of Tomball, TX and Sherry Savoie (Kenny) of Grand Coteau, LA; grandsons, Erich (Kristen), Brian, John, Gregory Beasley, and Jean-Paul Savoie; granddaughter, Gabrielle Savoie; great-grandsons, Charles, Theodore and Henry Beasley; sixteen nieces and nephews and their families; and her beloved dog, Iggy.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks to St Joseph Hospice: Jamie Beard, Jeannie Vaughn, Margaret Smith, Rev. Ben Carter and Redessa Besse; the personal care aides and staff at The Community Group and most of all to her caregivers: Jerilyn Broussard and Sandra Malorin for their compassion, love and devotion.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at Bethlehem Cemetery in the Snap Community of Panola County with Rev. Andy Morris officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Erich T. Beasley, Gregory W. Beasley, Brian R. Beasley, John W. Beasley, Gabrielle E. Savoie and Jean-Paul F. Savoie.
In lieu of flowers, donations in the name of Imogene Beasley Pedro may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, LA 71103.
