Funeral services for Mrs. Ima Ophelia Pitts, age 91 of Beckville, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2006 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Arnold Shrewsbury officiating. Interment will follow in the New Prospect Cemetery near Beckville. Mrs. Pitts passed away on Wednesday morning, October 11, 2006 in Carthage.

Mrs. Ima Ophelia Williams Pitts was born in Beckville, Texas on September 14, 1915 to Howell and Pearl Dagnell Williams. Mrs. Pitts attended Beckville Schools. She married Jim Ras Pitts on October 3, 1936 in Panola County. Mrs. Pitts worked in the cafeteria for many years at the Beckville Elementary School. She had lived in Panola County all of her life and was a member of the Rockhill United Methodist Church. Mrs. Pitts was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, who died in 1992, an infant son who died in 1940; daughter, Jimmie Gail Pitts in 1944; son, Jimmy Lynn Pitts in 1967; daughter, Marilyn Smith in 2005; and two brothers, Wayne Williams and Albert Williams.

Mrs. Pitts is survived by two grandchildren, Melanie Renee Huk and husband Edward of Aviano, Italy and Jason A. Hammack and wife Jennifer of Lindale, Texas; six great-grandchildren, Steve Goodson, Faith Hammack, Hope Hammack, and Xander Huk, Dylon Gilbert, and Devon Gilbert; and a sister-in-law, Mattie Bell Freeman of Goodrich, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are Jason A. Hammack, Gary Payne, Randy Payne, Jimmy Hammack, Gaylen Williams, and Grant Williams.
