Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Bea Ritter Barrett, age 87, of Carthage, Panola County, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dale Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Gary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Barrett passed away on Saturday morning, Nov. 12, 2011, in Carthage.

Ida Bea Ritter Barrett was born on Apr. 1, 1924, in Bronson, TX to Pink Paul Ritter, Sr. and Maude Childress Ritter. She graduated from Gary High School and attended Panola College where she graduated from the nursing program. Mrs. Barrett married Clifford Wayne Barrett on July 31, 1942, in Appleby, TX. She worked as a LVN at Panola General Hospital until her retirement in 1986. She loved the Dallas Cowboys in the good times and the bad. Mrs. Barrett moved to Panola County in 1946, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carthage. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Clifford Wayne "C.W." Barrett, Jr.; two sisters, Bessie Mae Rochelle and Marguerite Hudson; and three brothers, Billy Marvin Ritter, Rudolph Ritter, and Pink Paul Ritter, Jr.

Mrs. Barrett is survived by her husband of 69 years, Wayne Barrett of Carthage; one son, Calvin Barrett of Gary; two daughters, Pauline Godwin of Gary and Jane Pope and husband J.R. of the Shiloh Community; one brother, Kenneth Ritter and wife Dorothy of Spring; a sister-in-law, Peggy Ritter of Carthage; ten grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Barrett.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeffrey Godwin, Darren Wilkerson, Craig Pittman, Clint Pope, Dewain Cobb, Bobby Templet, and Les Harrell.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Kevin Godwin, Terry Kincaid, and Hardy Barrett.
