Howard Lealand "Howie" Streefkerk, 49, of Tatum, Texas, left for his heavenly home on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at his home in Tatum. He was born on August 13, 1976 in Manistique, Michigan. Howie worked as a carpenter, plumber, exterminator and was a jack of all trades. He loved fishing, hunting, boating, traveling, camping and spending time with his family and friends. Preceding him in death are his father, David R. Streefkerk; daughter, Harley Streefkerk; brother, John Streefkerk; and his father-in-law, Elton Smith of Tatum.

Howie is survived by his wife, Rachel Smith Streefkerk of Tatum; sons, David and Dylan Streefkerk of Tatum; daughters, Kierra Streefkerk of Fairfield and Katelyn Streefkerk of Tatum; mother, Teresa Yale Tschirhart of Traverse City, Michigan; sisters, Yvonne Butkovich of Engadine, Michigan and Lucy Organek of New Diana; mother-in-law, Janna Smith of Tatum; and brother-in-law Jerod Smith and wife Nikki. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive Howie.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
