Henry Albert Taylor, 92, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 12, 2020, at his home. Henry Albert Taylor was born on Feb. 6, 1928, in Gilbertown, AL to the late Connie Albert and Claudia Doggett Taylor. He graduated from Silas High School in Silas, AL and attended Atlanta Bible Institute. Mr. Taylor served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged. He married Arona Ann Wynn on Dec. 20, 1950, in Gilbertown. Mr. Taylor worked as an engineer and later as an accountant for Shell Oil Co. in Houston, New Orleans, and McAllen until his retirement in 1986. He loved yard work, gardening, fishing, and especially spending time with his family. Mr. Taylor was a member of Barcelona Baptist Church in Hot Springs Village, AR where he served as a deacon. He was a member of the Gideon's International. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents; son, Randy Brad Taylor; siblings, Cecil Taylor, Jewel Stanford, and Hazel Stokely; son-in-law, Gerald "Jerry" Buechler; and in-laws, Doyle C. and Marie Wynn
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Arona Taylor of Carthage; daughter, Teri Buechler of Carthage; brother, Harlan Taylor and wife Annette of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Shawna Ra'e Briggs and husband Ron of Beckville and Rebecca Taylor of Saratoga Springs, NY; great-grandchildren, MSgt. Jeremy Davis and wife Courtney, Chelsea Hamilton and husband Jace, Kolby Briggs, Macie Brown and husband Matt, A1C Brannon Davis and wife Caroline, Mya ra'e Davis, Logan Briggs, and Callie May; great-great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Blake, Karrington, Bennett, Avery, and Zander; sisters-in-law, Ruth Taylor and Suzette Alexander; and many special nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 16, 2020, at Rehobeth Cemetery with Arnold Shrewsbury officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Jace Hamilton, Kolby Briggs, A1C Brannon Davis, Logan Briggs, Matt Brown, and David Price. Honorary pallbearer is MSgt. Jeremy Davis.
