Henry Earl "Tank" Brown, 64 of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Thursday morning, May 12, 2016, in Carthage. He was born on Oct. 1, 1951, in Deadwood, Texas to the late Les Stevenson and Lou Ollie Brown Allison. He attended Panola College where he earned a welding certificate. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. Mr. Brown worked as a welder for H.B. Zachary for many years. He lived his lifetime in Panola County and was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church in Deadwood. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was also preceded in death by four sisters, two brothers, and a granddaughter.

Survivors include sons, Henry M. Brown of Gatesville, Keith L. Brown and wife Sonya of Carthage, and Timothy E. Brown of Carthage; daughter, Tina Brown Howard of Carthage; brothers, Robert Gene Stevenson and wife Laratha of Houston, Jessie D. Stevenson and wife Jessie Helen of Elysian Fields, Elbert Hunter and wife Linda of Houston, Alford O. Allison of Lufkin, L.B. Allison of Longstreet, LA, Jerry Lyn Allison of Washington D.C., and Leron Allison, Jr. and wife JoAnn of Carthage; sisters, Lidia Dean Stevenson of Shreveport, Christine Potts of Dallas, Gloria Lewis of Wisconsin, Mattie Stevenson of Longview, Winnie Allison and husband Willie of Fair Play, Margaret Matlock and husband Jessie of Carthage, and Dorothy Allison of Carthage; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mr. Brown.

A visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Hubert Owens officiating. Interment will follow in Holland's Quarters Cemetery.

Pallbearers are JaVontay Brown, Keith Brown, Jr., KeUntray Brown, CaNedrian Howard, Christopher Howard, Jr., and Emmanuel Stevenson.

Honorary pallbearers are Henry M. Brown, Keith L. Brown, Timothy E. Brown, LaMarcus Leatch, Jr., JaKevian Brown, and John T. Holland.
