Helen Polston, 85, of Tatum, Texas passed away Saturday morning February 4, 2023 at her home in Tatum. Helen Ruth Ingram was born on January 6, 1938 in DeBerry, Panola County, Texas to the late James L. and Ida Mae Harrison Ingram. She was raised in Panola County and was a graduate of Carthage High School with the class of 1953. Helen worked as the City Secretary for the City of Tatum and retired after 25 years of service. She was a loving mother and enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and working in her yard. Helen is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed Polston; brother, Bo Jack Ingram; sisters, Vivian Bagley and husband, James and Gracie Jimerson and her husband Al; son, Richard Betts; and grandson, Jeremiah Jackson.

Mrs. Polston is survived by her children, Cleman Simpson, Sally Valcourt and Sandra Kraft; grandchildren, Kristina Simpson, Tracey Colvin and husband Eric, and Shiloh Jackson and wife Wendy; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Tatum Cemetery with Bro. Thomas Monroe officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home, 1131 State Hwy 149, Carthage, Texas 75633.
