Helen Groce, 92, of Lake Murvaul, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 28, 2016, in Longview. Helen Darline Fry Groce was born on Aug. 7, 1924, in Hugo, OK to the late Delbert Harrison and Grace V. Henry Fry. Mrs. Groce graduated from Winnsboro High School with the class of 1942 and attended Panola College. She married James Richard Groce on Jan. 10, 1943, in Rockwall and he preceded her in death on July 12, 2016. Mrs. Groce worked for a number of years at Panola County Abstract and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She moved to Carthage in 1954, from Winnsboro and was a charter member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Tommy and Jimmy Fry.

Survivors include daughters, Darline Graves and husband Lynn of Lake Murvaul, Jeannine Milam and husband Danny of Carthage, and Eileen Allred and husband Mike of Shreveport; sisters, Joy Couvillion of Marksville, LA and Ann Ayers of San Antonio; 8 grandchildren, Kim Simmons and her children, Spence and wife Felicia, Haley and husband Reagan, and their child, Blakely; Lori Loria and her children, Brooks and Maddie; Lee Graves; Brad Milam and wife Kerry, and their children Rebecca and Natalie; Brandon Milam and wife Lesley and their children, Reese, Ashtyn, Camryn, and LeeAnna; Becky Carson and husband Chris and their children, Caelyn, C.J., and Wyatt; Mitch Allred and wife Kristin and their children, Lainey, and Charli Ann; and Kevin Allred and Colleen Haire.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Freddy Mason and Robert Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers are Brad Milam, Brandon Milam, Lee Graves, Mitch Allred, Kevin Allred, Brooks Loria, Spence Simmons, and Reese Milam.

Honorary pallbearer is Bill Steptoe.
