Helen Beal, 95, of Carthage, Texas formerly of Longview, Texas passed away on Friday afternoon, March 29, 2024, in Carthage. Helen Elizabeth Griffith was born on July 17, 1928, in Stonega, Virginia to the late Floyd Paul and Della Gertrude Adkins Griffith. She attended school in Norris, Tennessee. Mrs. Beal worked as a switch board operator, a waitress, and later earned her CNA certification and worked as a sitter for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed going to flea markets and shopping. Mrs. Beal moved to Carthage in 2018, from Longview. She was also preceded in death by parents, Floyd Paul Griffith and Della Gertrude Cox; brothers, Ben Griffith, James Griffith, Rufus Cox and Harold Cox and a sister, Katherine Cox Elkins.

She is survived by her children, Carl Harris, Connie Rhome, Grover Beal and wife Peggy, Roy Beal and wife Dwia, Linda Duke and husband James, and Ada Marie Bell and husband Mike; grandchildren, Carla Harris, Keith Harris, Christie Harris, Ashley Harris, Carl Ryan Harris, Brooke Harris, Stefanie Webster, Tim Rhome, Renee Hogan Teresa Bobbit, G.C. Beal, Amber Wilson, Brad Beal, Holly Capps, and Ryan Norgard; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and sisters, Gertie Gillilan, Nellie Pratt, and Georgia Cox.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Carthage Healthcare for the loving care provided to Mrs. Beal.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Antioch Cemetery near Carthage, Texas with Dr. Allen Tilley officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
