Obituary

Heather Brooks Gibson, 42, of Tatum, passed away on Wednesday morning, Nov. 30, 2016, in Carthage. She was born on Sept. 1, 1974, in Milford, DE to Patrick Michael and Carol Morton Melson Gibson. Heather graduated from Middletown, DE High School with the class of 1993. She attended Tyler Jr. College and earned her bachelors and masters degrees from UT-Tyler. Heather had worked as a teacher at Orr Elementary in Tyler, J.L. Everhart in Longview, and for the past two years as a special education teacher at Beckville ISD. She loved photography and caring for her dog and horses. She adored her nieces and nephews whom thought of her as a second mom. Heather was a Daughter of the American Revolution. She attended Abundant Life Temple in Gladewater. Her father preceded her in death.

Survivors include her mother and step-father, Carol Gibson Eason and James of Gilmer; three siblings, Patrick Gibson, Jr. and wife Vera of Gladewater and their children, Hunter, Garrett, Lauren, and Kelsey; Chasity Klingler and husband Henry of Henderson and their children, Brantley, Colter, and Aubrey; and Joshua Gibson and wife Briana of Cisco and their children, Cody, McKenzie, Tyla, and Tatum.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Price officiating.
