Graveside services for Mrs. Hazel Jo Ables Davidson, age 80, of Beckville, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September, 11, 2010, at Rock Hill Cemetery near Beckville, Texas with Dr. J. B. Morris officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Davidson passed away on Sunday afternoon, September 5, 2010, in Carthage, Texas.
Hazel Jo Ables Davidson was born on September 5, 1929, in Bernice, Louisiana to Joe N. Ables and Carrie Mae Fuller Ables. She attended Calvin schools in Calvin, Louisiana. Mrs. Davidson married Travis Neal Davidson on August 8, 1955 in Columbus, Mississippi and he preceded her in death on October 15, 2007. She worked in a fruit orchard in Washington State for many years before retiring. Mrs. Davidson was a member of the Calvin Baptist Church. She moved to Beckville in 1999, from Yakima, Washington. Mrs. Davidson is also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Faye Richard and Mary Hughes; and one brother, J.W. Ables.
Mrs. Davidson is survived by two sisters, Carol Martin and husband Herb of Hood River, Oregon and Linda Lee of Yakima, Washington; one brother Jim Ables of Yakima Washington; nieces, Jean Davis of Nashville, Tennessee, Marianne Lapsley of Bossier City, Louisiana, Jackie Cummings of Minden, Louisiana, Annette Martin of Branson, Missouri, and Melissa and Maranda Ables of Yakima, Washington; and nephews, Lewis Hughes of Bossier City, Louisiana, Nelson and Mike Martin of Hood River, Oregon, and Nick Schridner of Yakima, Washington.
