Graveside services for Mr. Haywood Earl Myrick, age 72 of Longview, will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, May 15, 2009, at Centennial Cemetery, Panola County, with Bro. Donald Scott officiating under the direction of Jimerson – Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Myrick passed away on Monday morning, May 11, 2009, at his home in Longview.
Haywood Earl Myrick was born on August 2, 1936, in Center, TX to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Myrick. Mr. Myrick served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. He married Ola Francine Mullins on July 1, 1961. Mr. Myrick was the owner and operator of Pine Tree Carpets. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Myrick had lived in Longview since 1965, moving from Houston. He was a member of Greggton United Methodist Church. Mr. Myrick was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, who passed away on March 21, 2008.
Mr. Myrick is survived by three sons, Chris, Ronald, and Donald Myrick all of Longview; two sisters, Bonnie Stanford of Center and Dixie Merritt of Conroe; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Marcille and Chuck Sanborn of the Centennial Community and Pamela and Aubrey Lee Cordray of Newton; four grandchildren, Mitch, Courtney, Megan, and Blake.
