Harvey Franklin Ritter, 69, of DeBerry, TX, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019. He was born on Feb. 28, 1950, in Rockford, Illinois to the late Hugh Lee and Velma Waulene Dickson Ritter. Harvey graduated from Auburn High School in Rockford with the class of 1968. He served a total of 8 years in the U.S. Army before being honorably discharged. He was first deployed to Vietnam, where he was wounded, then Korea, and for 4 years in Germany. After discharge from the armed services, he worked in communications for IBM. He later worked for many years as a mechanic and more recently as a truck driver. Mr. Ritter was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Johnnie, Jerry Lynn, and William Gene Ritter.

He is survived by his sister, Vadie R. Wilson and husband Steven of Shreveport.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019, at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Road, Keithville, LA 71047. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
