A graveside service for Mr. Harold Weldon Wilson, Sr., age 79, of Beckville, TX, was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Wilson Cemetery in the Rock Hill Community of Panola County under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mr. Wilson passed away on Friday morning, May 31, 2013, at his home near Beckville.
Harold Weldon Wilson, Sr. was born on Aug. 9, 1933, in Ft. Worth, TX to Hugh Ernest and Alice Modene Wilson. He graduated from Pascal High School in Ft. Worth, TX. Mr. Wilson married Mary Jo Briggs on Aug. 30, 1952, in Ft. Worth. He served his county in the National Guard. He was an engineer, having worked for Bell Helicopter for many years and later for Brown & Root until his retirement. Mr. Wilson was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner having been a member of the Haltom City Riverside Lodge #1331, the Scottish Rite, and Moslah Temple. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved golf and collecting stamps and coins. Mr. Wilson moved to Beckville in 1968, from Ft. Worth. He was a Baptist. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandchild, Conner Foster.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Jo Wilson of Rock Hill; two sons, Harley Wilson and wife Nita of Rock Hill and Harold Weldon Wilson Jr. of Rock Hill; one twin brother, Horace Wilson and wife Pat of Edgewood; four grandchildren, Nathan Wilson and wife Hollie of Rock Hill, Mandy Foster and husband Greg of Rock Hill, Adam Wilson and wife Emily of Hallsville, and Weldon Wilson of Union Grove; six grandchildren, Winter, Wyleigh, and Will Wilson, Carley and Cadence Foster, and Katelyn Wilson; and one great-grandchild, Nathan Wilson, Jr.
Serving as pallbearers were Nathan Wilson, Weldon Wilson, Adam Wilson, Greg Foster, Rusty Coleman, and Brent Coleman.
