A funeral service for Mr. Harold Risen, 73, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bruce Head officiating. Interment will follow at McKnight Cemetery near Cushing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Risen passed away on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 24, 2013, at his home in Carthage.

Harold Risen was born on Apr. 21, 1940, in Louisville, KY to the late Lindsey and Carrie Ruth Madden Risen. Mr. Risen attended Valley Station School in Louisville. He married Lynda Sue Button on March 18, 1989, in Beckville. He worked in housekeeping at Longview Regional Medical Center for many years until his retirement. Mr. Risen was of the Baptist faith and moved to the area in 1988, from Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Jim, and Donald Risen and one step-brother, Ted Garner Kea.

Mr. Risen is survived by his wife, Lynda Risen of Carthage; two sons, David Risen and wife Cindy of Temple and Bobby Risen and wife Evelyn of Colorado; two daughters, Tami Neal and husband Keith of Lake Charles and Darla Black and husband David of Belton; two step-sons, David Jones of Bossier City and Mark Jones and wife Melissa of Norfolk, VA; brother-in-law, Joe Button and wife Shirley of College Station; and sister-in-law, Patsy Permenter and husband Floyd of Henderson. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Risen.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Button, Sam Moody, C.J. Milam, and Don Liles.
