Funeral services for Mr. Grady Arnold Saunders, age 84 of Carthage will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dick Sawyer and Dr. William Everett officiating. Interment will follow in the DeBerry Cemetery. Mr. Saunders passed away on June 30, 2006 in Carthage.

Grady Arnold Saunders was born in Henderson, Texas on August 3, 1921 to T. W. Saunders and was raised by Lois Saunders. Grady was a retired surveyor for the Texas Highway Department. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and had lived in Carthage since 1980 moving here from DeBerry. Grady was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Carthage. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Henrietta Roquemore Saunders in 1977 and Rubye Nan Page Saunders in 2003; nine brothers, and four sisters.

Mr. Saunders is survived by his son Gary Saunders and wife Sylvia of Rockwall, Texas; daughter, Beth Doyle and husband Bluet of Silsbee, Texas; and three grandchildren, Richard Saunders of Rockwall, Ben Doyle, and Brooke Doyle both of Silsbee, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are Mike Roquemore, Ron Roquemore, Ben Doyle, Danny Yates, Mike Shadowens, and Richard Saunders.
