Gloria Gene Mangham
, 91, passed into the loving arms of her heavenly Father on September 21, 2017. She was born November 7, 1925 in Logansport, Louisiana to the late Alonzo Clifford and Emmie Lois Erwin Mitchell. She earned a Master's Degree in Education and taught public school for 25 years, as well as 10 years in the Texas Prison System. She was also a reading specialist, along with being a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Gloria loved being of service to her church and was one of the best workers they had. She was quick to open her heart and always had an encouraging word to say. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Cyrus Mitchell and sister, Helen Lyons.
She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Rev. Cleveland Adlai (C.A.) Mangham; son, Cleveland Adlai (Buster) Mangham and wife Donna; daughter, Debbie Stanford and husband Terry; son, Eddie D. Mangham; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Regina A. Mangham Jacobs; and a host of other nieces, nephews and relatives.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Walton Cemetery in the Del Ray Community near Carthage, TX. Local arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
