Glen Allums, 71, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, June 17, 2020, at his home in Carthage. Robert Glen Allums was born on Nov. 22, 1948, in Henderson, TX, to the late William Preston and Hazel Louise Tompkins Allums. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1967, and attended Panola College. Mr. Allums was a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church. He married Mary Beth Malone on Nov. 23, 1968, in Long Branch and she preceded him in death on Dec. 11, 2011. Glen worked for Anadarko as a purchasing agent for 33 years before retiring and also served as a reserve deputy for the Panola County Sheriff's Dept. for more than 30 years. He was an avid hunter and was a member of the Carthage Masonic Lodge 521 and Sharon Temple Shrine.

Mr. Allums is survived by daughters, Shannon Henderson and husband R.D. of Kilgore and Christie Nichols of Carthage; brother, Wayne Allums of Carthage; grandchildren, Ashley Hodge and husband Brandon, Cody Wilkerson and wife Kelli, Remington Henderson and wife Erin, T.J. Allums and wife Cassity, Mason Henderson and Rhayne Nichols; great-grandchildren, Scarlett Beth Allums, Brynslee Hodge, Brooklynn Henderson, Karter Henderson and Brantley Hulsey; and special caregiver and friend, Danny Shoemaker.  Numerous other relatives, and many friends also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2020, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Rehobeth Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Phillip Grimes, Danny Buck Davidson, Ronny LaGrone, Gaylon Anderson, Robert Earl Smith, and Smokey Smith.  Honorary pallbearers are Frank Sepaugh, Ben Sepaugh, Jack Ellett, and Danny Anderson.
