A graveside service for Mrs. Gladys Garland, 84, of Angleton, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, with Chaplain Craig Garland officiating at Antioch Cemetery near Carthage under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the graveside service. Mrs. Garland passed away on Friday March 7, 2014, at Country Village Care in Angleton.

Gladys Garland was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Tatum, TX to Effie Lee Linton and Horace Jackson Bromley. She married the love of her life, Walter Lamar Garland, on Apr. 11, 1953, and he preceded her in death on Apr. 28, 1991.

Mrs. Garland is survived by her children, Walter D. Garland and wife Debby, Paul Garland and wife Cindy, Theresa Garland Stolarsky and husband John, and Gary Garland and wife Carla; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
