Obituary
A funeral service for Mrs. Geraldine Brady, 79, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ray Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Long Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Brady passed away on Friday afternoon, Dec. 6, 2013, in Carthage.
Geraldine Cariker Brady was born on Jan. 11, 1934, in Henderson, TX to the late John Allen and Gladys Worley Cariker. Mrs. Brady attended school at Long Branch and graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1952. She then attended Panola College. She married James B. "Pete" Brady on Apr. 2, 1953, in Henderson. Mrs. Brady worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Mr. Charles Frazier, C.P.A. for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Panola General Hospital Auxiliary and the Carthage Service League where she devoted many hours working at the thrift shop and library. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Mrs. Brady moved to Carthage in 1956, from Long Branch and was a member of the Long Branch Missionary Baptist Church where she served as the church treasurer for many years.
Mrs. Brady is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James B. "Pete" Brady of Carthage; three sons, Gregg Brady and wife Sue of Plano, Ray Brady and wife Randi of Carthage, and Roy Brady of Longview; one sister, Carolyn Hillin of Long Branch; two brothers, Allen W. Cariker and wife Bobbie of Carthage and Donald R. Cariker and wife Janice of Longview; three grandchildren, Jason, Tyler, and Addison Brady; and step-mother, Huelitt Cariker of Carthage. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mrs. Brady.
Serving as pallbearers are Charles "Bud" Worley, Bobby Brady, Tim Cariker, Billy Jim Brady, Heath Cariker, and Keith "Doc" Brady.
