George Brenzovich, 76, of Long Branch, Texas, passed away on Thursday night, May 25, 2023, at his home in Long Branch. George Tuure Brenzovich was born on October 28, 1946, in Fredricktown, Pennsylvania to the late George and Edith Tuure Brenzovich. He moved to Long Branch from Ft. Hancock, Texas in 2021. George grew up in the Byzantine Catholic Church and converted to the Methodist faith as an adult. He attended high school at St. John Kanty Prep, graduating with the class of 1965. He attended King's College in Pennsylvania, where he was in the rifle program and shot as a collegian, earning four letters in rifle. He was the team champion for four straight years while leading King's College to two conference titles. George later became a coach in the rifle program at King's College for over 18 years. He was also a teacher at Bishop Hoban High School in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. George was an instructor at UTEP and taught rifle and Kinesiology classes on various firearms and marksmanship. He was also an instructor for the concealed handgun license for the state of Texas Department of Public Safety. George married Deborah Anne Busher in Middletown, Connecticut on February 16, 1997. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Marvel and daughter-in-law, Amber Brenzovich.
George is survived by his wife, Debbie Brenzovich; children, Andrea Gallagher and husband John, Karen Brenzovich, and George Brenzovich; grandchildren, Ryan Jacob "Jake" Gallagher, Samuel Gallagher, Brandon Hannis, Kevin Hannis, Abigail Brenzovich, Tyler Brenzovich, and Ava Brenzovich; and the mother of his children, Joan Brenzovich.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Otto and Father Steve Paradis officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home on prior to the service.
