Genise Renee Jackson Lewis, 52, of Long Branch, Texas, passed away on Saturday morning, August 28, 2021, in Tyler, Texas. She was born on December 16, 1968, in Houston, Texas to James Fern and Mearlene Simpson Jackson. Genise graduated from Wheatley High School in Houston with the class of 1986. She loved singing and was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church in Clayton, Texas.

She is survived by her parents, James and Mearlene Jackson of Long Branch; husband, Ronnie Medford of Henderson; children, Kendrick Jackson, Lashawnda Lewis, and Carnelius Lewis all of Long Branch; siblings, James Jerome Jackson of Long Branch, Myrtle Washington (Kenneth) of Houston, Wilford Jackson (Angela) of Houston, Effie Hooper (Danny) of Carthage, and Kyina Routt (William) of Houston; and grandchildren, Aalijah and Aamiyah Mitchell, Aalacia Jackson, and Nehemiah Childers.

Cremation arrangements are by Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
