Geneva Crooms Griffin, 81, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Sunday night, Oct. 31, 2021, in Longview, TX. She was born on Feb. 23, 1940, in Carthage to the late Leavy Wilson Crooms and Emma Joe Hutchison Crooms. Geneva graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1958. She married Floyd Wayne Griffin on June 21, 1958, in Nacogdoches. Geneva worked at White's Auto and later for Sears for over 20 years before her retirement. Mrs. Griffin enjoyed antiquing and shopping. She lived her lifetime in Carthage and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her sisters, Bobbie Henson, Gladys Wallace, and Mary Ellen Hughes.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Wayne Griffin; sons, Tommy Griffin and wife Cynthia, Bubba Griffin and wife Teresa and Brad Griffin and wife Christy all of Carthage; brother, Kervin Crooms and wife Becky of the Dotson Community; grandchildren, Lani West and husband Johnnie, Haley Griffin, Grant Griffin and wife Sydnee, Christine Samford and husband Jason, Lauren Shulenberger and husband John, and Avery, Alivia, and Aubrey Griffin; and great-grandchildren, Camron and Wesley Samford, Emma Davis, Atlas Shulenberger, and Lane Griffin.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, at County Line Cemetery with Randy Miller officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the graveside service.

Pallbearers are Grant Griffin, Johnnie West, Mark Atkerson, Tim Atkerson, William Sanders, and Bubba Wallace. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Crooms and David Hardy.
