Gary Blackshire, 42, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Monday afternoon, November 7, 2022 in Carthage. Gary was born on June 30, 1980, in Carthage, to Charles Ray Blackshire and Ruby Fay Beck Blackshire. He graduated with the Carthage High School Class of 1999 and then attended Panola Jr. College's welding program where he earned an associate's degree in welding.  Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his son.  He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Blackshire.

Gary is survived by his mother, Ruby Blackshire; son, Easy Blackshire; siblings, Calvin Blackshire, Lynn Blackshire, Carlos Blackshire, Patience Blackshire, and Joy Blackshire.  He is also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Word of Life Church in Carthage with Bishop Hubert Owens officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery, Gary, Texas.  A visitation will be held from 6 – 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
