Gary Andrew Barnett, 54, of Carthage, passed away on Monday morning, April 16, 2018, in Carthage. He was born on July 26, 1963, in Kermit, TX to Arthur A. and Glenda Petty Barnett. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1981, and attended technical school in Shreveport. Gary was of the Baptist faith. He lived his lifetime in Carthage and was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Glenda McKnight of Carthage; brothers, Arthur Allen "Poncho" Barnett of Carthage and Bradley Glenn Barnett and wife Jeannie of Lake Livingston; sister, Karen Barnett Bolton of Pearland; niece, Brandi Brooks Bryant; nephews, Tyler, Brady, and Jace Barnett and Blake, Brinkley, Braxxton, and Boston Bryant; and cousin, Mott Sims of DeBerry.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at DeBerry Cemetery with Bro. Bob Scott officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mr. Barnett will lie in state from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
