Graveside services for Mr. Fred Odis Malone, age 87 of the Long Branch Community in Panola County, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Bethlehem Cemetery in the Snap Community with Dr. Dale Reed officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Malone passed away on Tuesday morning, March 22, 2011, in Kilgore, TX.

Fred Odis Malone was born on Sept. 18, 1923, in Gary, TX to Eddie Luther and Hattie May Rackley Malone. He married Grace Sue Cariker on July 17, 1943, in Clayton and she preceded him in death on Oct. 20, 2009, after 66 years of marriage. Mr. Malone lived his lifetime in Panola County was a member of the Long Branch Missionary Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Betty Youngblood; one brother, Curtis Malone; and one sister, Gertie Lee Macon.

Mr. Malone is survived by one daughter, Beth Allums and husband Glen of Carthage; two grandchildren, Shannon Henderson and husband Robert of Kilgore and Christie Nichols and husband Tommy of Carthage; and six great-grandchildren, Ashley, Cody, Remington, Mason, T.J., and Rhayne. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive Mr. Malone.
