Obituary

Franklin D. Watts, 87, of Cypress, Texas, passed away on Sunday afternoon, June 23, 2024, in Cypress. He was born on Nov. 4, 1936, in Austin, TX to the late Fred Clifford Watts, Sr. and Carrie M. Hoppe Watts. Mr. Watts graduated from high school in Austin with the class of 1954. He worked as a welder and was a member of the Welder's Union #211 in Houston. Mr. Watts enjoyed hunting, fishing, trot lining, gardening, cooking, and baking. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Braun.; grandsons, Jason Dixon and Russell Hargrove, Jr.; and great-grandson, Kristin Dixon.

He is survived by his children, Diana Hargrove, Kathy Holloway and husband Gene, Donna Chamblee and husband Gene, Kristi Akins, Kimberly Gray and husband Josh, and Beau Watts and wife Holly; brothers, Fred Watts, Jr. and wife Betty and Kenneth Watts and wife Patty; long-time girlfriend, Donna Anderson; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Powell officiating. Interment will be in Restland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers are Beau Watts, Josh Gray, Jake Holloway, Dakota Jones, and Jase Dixon. Honorary pallbearer is Kobe Gray.
