Frankey Smith, 56, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Tuesday evening, Dec. 22, 2020, in Tyler. She was born on July 8, 1964, in Dallas, TX, to the late John William and Gloria Dean Horton Edmond. Frankey worked as an inspector and packer for Genpak in Carthage for many years. She also owned and operated Frankey Smith Cleaning Service for over 15 years. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sharon Banks; and previous husband, Ernest Ray Smith, Sr.

Survivors include her son, Ernest Ray Smith, II and wife Consuella Renae Smith of Carthage; brothers, Archie Curt Edmond and wife Tekel of Longview, William J. Edmond and wife Victoria of Henderson and John D. Edmond of Carthage; sisters, Olivia Hill and husband Tyrone of Marshall, Mary Edmond of Marshall, and Laura McMichael and husband Todd of Cypress; grandchild, Ernest Ray Smith, III; 13 nieces; 12 nephews; and special friend, Chester Irving.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. B.F. Alonzo officiating. Interment will follow at Walker Cemetery in Carthage.  A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Larry Champion, Carldrin Williams, Gary Gleen, Leon Taylor, Tyrone Hill, Jr., Terrence Cole, and Raydavien Matlock.  Honorary Pallbearers are Ernest Ray Smith, II, Ernest Ray Smith, III, John D. Edmond, William J. Edmond, Archie Curt Edmond, and Chester Irving.
