Mrs. Roquemore, a lifelong resident of Panola County, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday afternoon, May 2, 2014, at her home in Riderville.

Frances Marcell Chadwick Roquemore was born on Nov. 25, 1922, in Panola County to the late Hollis Mortimer and Lola Day Fowler Chadwick. After 20 years of teaching special education, Frances retired from Carthage I.S.D. After retirement, she and her husband spent their time raising roses, helping others, and traveling the world. After her husband's death in 1993, Frances spent her time volunteering to help others. She was a volunteer at The Samaritan House, a volunteer certified social security benefits counselor, and a nursing home ombudsman. She will always be remembered for her gracious, caring, giving nature, and her willingness to always help others in need. Her priorities were always God, family, and friends. Frances was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 45 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jean Rook and Bess Parker; grandson, Alan Roquemore; and her beloved husband, H.B. Roquemore.
