Frances Hopkins Frasier, 101, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Wednesday morning, Aug. 21, 2019, in Carthage. Frances Jordan was born on June 22, 1918, in Panola County, TX to the late Edgar B. and Emma Elliott Jordan. She accepted Christ in 1938, and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Carthage where she taught Sunday school for many years and sang with the Silver Tones. Mrs. Frasier was a member of the Panola County Chamber of Commerce. In 1949, she became a member of the Order of the Easter Star #747, where she held the offices of Worthy Matron, secretary and treasurer for many years. She lived most of her life in Panola County. Mrs. Frasier was preceded in death by her husbands, James Buford Hopkins and Charles Frasier and brothers, Edgar Dennis Jordan and Jim Allen Jordan; and sisters, Ima O. Jordan Boyd and Margaret R. Jordan Loyd.
She is survived by her son, Errol Dean Hopkins and wife Margie of Gary; daughter, Dr. Jo Ann Hopkins Strickland of Wilmington, DE; grandchildren, Dona Hopkins Willett and husband Jimmy of Longview and Darla Hopkins Cherry and husband Keith of Hallsville, and Jason Strickland and wife Kerry of Middletown, PA; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Willett Allgeier and husband Bryan, Kerris Willett, Matthew Willett and wife Kourtney, and Thomas Cherry, U.S. Marine; and great-great-grandchildren, Hattie and Millie.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and nurses of Winkler Place and Heart's Way Hospice for the loving care shown to our loved one.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Gradberg officiating. Interment will follow in Gary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
Pallbearers are Jason Strickland, Matthew Willett, Thomas Cherry, Bryan Allgeier, Jimmy Willett, and Keith Cherry.
