Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Pitts Fite, age 94 of Carthage, Texas will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William Everett officiating. Interment will follow in Tatum Cemetery under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mrs. Fite will lie in state after 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning with the family to receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Mrs. Fite passed away on Friday, March 2, 2007 in Longview, Texas.

Frances Priscilla Pitts Fite was born on October 12, 1912 in Tatum, Texas to William Henry and William Florence Hickey Pitts. Mrs. Fite married Reagan Carr "R.C." Fite on January 6, 1940 in Palestine, Texas. After receiving her master's degree in education she worked as a teacher and was employed at Baker-Koonce School in Carthage for 26 years, where she retired as a principal. Mrs. Fite had lived in Carthage her lifetime where she was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away on January 21, 1979; son-in-law, Gary Wynn; three sisters; and two brothers.

Mrs. Fite is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn Fite Wynn of Levelland; one grandson, Reagan Wynn and wife Sheila of Fort Worth; and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Cambell Wynn of Fort Worth. Mrs. Fite is also survived by her loving caregivers, Bea Copeland, Kay Schalck, and Hazel Sutton.

Serving as pallbearers are John William Cooke, Lynn Vincent, Ray Tiller, John Tiller, Frank Tiller, and Bill Price.
